Product Description
LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) is a high-precision displacement transducer widely used in industries such as aerospace, machinery, construction, textile, railway, coal mining, metallurgy, plastics, chemical processing, and research institutions.
It is designed for measuring elongation, vibration, object thickness, expansion, and other linear displacement parameters, making it an advanced sensing solution across a wide range of applications.
Working Principle
The structure of an LVDT consists of a core, armature, primary coil, and secondary coils, as illustrated below. The primary and secondary coils are wound on the same coil former, and a freely movable rod-shaped armature is located inside the coil assembly.
When the armature is positioned at the center, the induced electromotive forces generated by the two secondary coils are equal, resulting in zero output voltage.
As the armature moves inside the coil and deviates from the center position, the induced voltages of the two secondary coils become unequal, producing an output voltage. The output voltage magnitude is proportional to the displacement.
